چکیده
GP-SIMD, a novel hybrid general purpose SIMD architecture, addresses the challenge of data synchronization by in-memory computing, through combining data storage and massive parallel processing. In this paper, we explore a resistive implementation of the GP-SIMD architecture. In resistive GP-SIMD, a novel resistive row and column addressable 4F2 crossbar is utilized, replacing the modified CMOS 190F2 SRAM storage previously proposed for GP-SIMD architecture. The use of the resistive crossbar allows scaling the GP-SIMD from few millions to few hundred millions of processing units on a single silicon die. The performance, power consumption and power efficiency of a resistive GP-SIMD are compared with the CMOS version. We find that PiM architectures and specifically, GP-SIMD, benefit more than other manycore architectures from using resistive memory. A framework for in-place arithmetic operation on a single multi-valued resistive cell is explored, demonstrating a potential to become a building block for next generation PiM architectures.

Aggrandizing the beast's limbs: patulous code reuse attack on ARM architecture
Since smartphones are usually personal devices full of private information, they are a popular target for a vast variety of real-world attacks such as Code Reuse Attack (CRA). CRAs enable attackers to execute any arbitrary algorithm on a device without injecting an executable code. Since the standard platform for mobile devices is ARM architecture, we concentrate on available ARM-based CRAs. Cu...
متن کاملOptimization of majority protocol for controlling transactions concurrency in distributed databases by multi-agent systems
In this paper, we propose a new concurrency control algorithm based on multi-agent systems which is an extension of majority protocol. Then, we suggest a clustering approach to get better results in reliability, decreasing message passing and algorithm’s runtime. Here, we consider n different transactions working on non-conflict data items. Considering execution efficiency of some different...
متن کاملUnbundling Transaction Services in the Cloud
The traditional architecture for a DBMS engine has the recovery, concurrency control and access method code tightly bound together in a storage engine for records. We propose a different approach, where the storage engine is factored into two layers (each of which might have multiple heterogeneous instances). A Transactional Component (TC) works at a logical level only: it knows about transacti...
متن کاملOptimizing Membership Functions using Learning Automata for Fuzzy Association Rule Mining
The Transactions in web data often consist of quantitative data, suggesting that fuzzy set theory can be used to represent such data. The time spent by users on each web page is one type of web data, was regarded as a trapezoidal membership function (TMF) and can be used to evaluate user browsing behavior. The quality of mining fuzzy association rules depends on membership functions and since t...
